The Trane Clean Effects air purifier is a very expensive dust collector. In order to match the effectiveness of the Electro Breeze Duct Mount UV kit, you must add ultraviolet lights and a carbon element to the Trane Clean Effects air purifier.
The Trane Clean Effects air purifier suffers from the need for frequent cleaning to retain its efficiency. Trane recommends it to be cleaned every six months (at factory settings) for most applications.
According to the owners manual, the Trane Clean Effects air purifier does produce ozone and, as with all electrostatic precipitators, ozone production increases as the cells load with contaminants. Read here about the EPA and ozone.
The performance of the Trane Clean Effects air purifier is effective for Danger Level 1, but does not include any features to address Danger Level 2 or Danger Level 3 contaminants.
The cost for the Trane Clean Effects air purifier plus the cost of a licensed contractor to modify your duct work to have it installed, can easily exceed the cost of purchasing the Electro Breeze Duct Mount UV kit.
Your purchase includes the Electro Breeze
air cleaner panel in your size, a UV germicidal lamp, mounting plate
assembly, monitor and five replacement pads. Change your first pad
after one month of use, then change out every 2-4 months, thereafter.
